High value items can be tagged to stop their accidental removal from a building or room. Alternatively items can be tracked "en mass" as they are taken "in" and "out" of monitored locations. If personnel are also tagged, the identity of both individual and product are logged together, enabling management to monitor use and location of each.

There are many applications where tag pairing can be of benefit. These include, but are not limited to, visitor control, authorised article removal, two man operational areas, wanderer control, vehicle and driver control, etc. The hands free reader is capable of holding tag combination templates which provide an instant reader response for either incorrect or correct tag combinations.
